While all these adaptations serve to demonstrate the posibilities of the guitar as a solo instrument in classical music, we find that the original compositions of Lawall demonstrate this to an even greater extent. Here we find Lawall‘s most popular compositions, with selected works giving the impressions of Big- Band and Rock music, along with the sounds of Africa, the rainforest, drum ensembles, electric guitars, the list goes on. „Lawall not only plays Jazz, Gospel, Latin, „New Music“, he plays with all these styles... and not only with them“ said German jazz impresario J.E.Berendt in introducing the „Stilblüten“, three of which are presented here in new versions. „Sam Sambadil“ (the Brazilian twin of Tolkien‘s Tom Bombadil) is the piece most frequently heard on the radio from Lawall‘s brainchild group OREXIS and „The Nai Harn Rip-off“ was yet another smash hit for the guitar. Before it had even been published, it spread throughout the globe, being played and recorded by many guitarists. No one, however, burns up the fretboard with this piece as does its creator in this new recording.

Hello Georg, We have listened to your album AVE CHITARRA and we are quite impressed with it. We particularly like the performances of Für Elise and Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven. The quality of the recording is quite high, as you said it would be. The notes of the guitar come through with a clarity and natural smoothness that really captures the subtle details of the performances very well. The sound is quite life-like, it sounds very good indeed. Well done, Georg! Lee Contini
